Man can will nothing unless he has first understood that he must count on no one but himself; that he is alone, abandoned on earth in the midst of his infinite possibilities, without help, with no other aim than the one he sets himself, with no other destiny than the one he forges for himself on this earth.

The hours of your life are the most valuable currency you will ever have. How will you spend them?
Imagine winning a huge lottery — you’d never again need to work for money. What then would you do with
your time? How would you spend your life? Would you give of your time and talent in creative service to the
world? Or would you pursue amusements, pleasures, traveling, and celebrity, collecting sensory experiences and possessions, playing with power and status and influence?

You’re a prisoner of your own illusions — about yourself and about the world. To cut yourself free, you’re going to need more courage and strength than any movie hero.

Fear is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master.
Like pain, it can alert and advise you, but may also cloud or limit your life.
Fear appears in many disguises, such as "I'm not really interested in doing that" or "Why bother?" or "I can't." You face fear every day — fear of failure, of rejection, even the fear of being yourself. Your fears are not walls, but hurdles. Courage is not the absence of fear, but the conquering of it.
